Nana Akua N. Zenzele is a Traditional Healer, Criminal Justice Professional, Philanthropist, Minister, and African Queen Mother. Nana Akua received her degrees from Howard University (BA, 1994), University of Baltimore (MS, 1995) and the Herbal Healer Academy (ND, 1999).
Nana Akua is the Founder/Director of the Natural Path Holistic Wellness Center, LLC and has been studying and using natural medicine for over two decades. She is also the Proprietor/Chief Herbalist of Herbal Creations by Akua, a producer of hand-crafted herbals for the skin, hair and bath. Nana Akua is certified and accredited by the American Naturopathic Medical Certification and Accreditation Board. Nana Akua is a member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association, the American Association of Nutritional Consultants, the National Association of Certified Natural Health Professionals, the International Network for Alternative and Intuitive Therapies, and the International Association of Colon Therapists.
In addition, Nana Akua is the Co-Founder/President of the Queen’s Daughters Foundation, Inc., a 501 © (3) non-profit organization committed to raising awareness and help eradicate poverty through services and outreach to homeless people, low-income families and at-risk youth. Further, we aim to create opportunities for empowerment and restoration of those living in poverty. Through our Homeless Outreach, Library and ICT/Computer Center Commissioning, School and Medical Supply Drives and Distribution, we strive to end suffering of all mankind. The foundation also provides Safer Sex Packets in an attempt to educate on and prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other STDs.
Due to the many years of work and service to the people of Ghana, West Africa, in March of 2011, Nana Akua was installed as Queen Mother of Development of Ekumfi Essueshyia (Central Region) Ghana. Her responsibilities include developing this traditional town in the areas of health care, education, spiritual and financial development. In July of 2012, Nana Akua (aka Nana Nkosuohemma Akua Adabowa I) opened her first library and computer center servicing the over 600 students in this village. In the years following, Nana Akua has commissioned four additional computer centers throughout various regions in Ghana providing access to technology to over 2,000 school children.
Nana Akua is also a traditional priest in the Akan Spiritual System, an African Traditional Religion. Known as Nana Akua Baakan Mossi, she utilizes her spiritual connection to assist or facilitate in the healing of others. Nana Akua is the Founder/Chief Priest of Traditional Life Ministries, Inc. an umbrella organization for spiritual endeavors committed to preserving, promoting and practicing traditional African religions/spiritual systems. Programs and services include spiritual healing/consultation, naming ceremonies, house/business blessings, and traditional spiritual rites of passage, trainings and rituals.
Nana Akua has also worked in the fields of education, research, counseling, public safety, and program development. In her spare time she enjoys singing, traveling, and collecting crystals/gemstones.
