This introductory/level one course will provide a brief overview of the traditional origins (African, Indian/Ayervedic, Native American, Western, Chinese) and uses of herbs. In addition, everyday modern uses of herbs will be discussed. The student will also be provided herbs for in-class preparations of herbal infusions/decoctions, cough syrup, body powders,herbal salts and liniments, in order to gain hands-on experience with making herbal remedies/formulas. A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the course.
This course is level two of the Traditional Herbalism course series. This level will focus on properties of herbs, using herbs for vitamins and minerals, and intermediate product making. Students will learn about the benefits and uses of Essential Oils. The student will learn how to make herbal capsules, aromatherapy sprays, body oils and scrubs. Recipes will be provided for herbal home remedies. The student will be provided with herbs for in-class projects. A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the course.
This course is level three of the Traditional Herbalism course series. This level will focus on self-assessment/observation, self-care plans, and herbal combinations for common health complaints. Students will learn about Flower Essences for balancing the emotions and herbs for Spiritual Healing. Student will learn how to make herbal tinctures, salves/ointments, herbal pills, and spiritual cleansing baths. Recipes will be provided for herbal home remedies. The student will be provided with herbs for in-class projects. A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the course.
This course is for everyone who wants to take control of their health and healing. The course will highlight various natural, over-the-counter remedies (herbs, homeopathics, vitamins, etc.) that will assist you in maintaining and/or re-gaining health. Students will also learn how to eat to boost immunity and how to relieve daily stressors holistically. The course will instruct students how to build a Natural Medicine Chest. Common health complaints/illnesses will be discussed along with possible natural treatments. Meditation and conscious breathing techniques will also be discussed and demonstrated. Students will experience examples of natural remedies during class such as teas, tinctures, homeopathic remedies/kits and more.
This course explores the daily dietary, environmental, and stress factors that cause toxicity in the body. Practical methods of cleansing and detoxifying are discussed in the course; including colon hydrotherapy, fasting, raw food diet, and juicing. Simple recipes for juicing, mild foods, and raw food diets will be provided. Students will have the opportunity to participate in class demonstrations and samplings of detox formulas.
This course will provide nutritional guidelines for optimal health--micro and macro nutrients, natural sources for vitamins and minerals, food combing, food additives, proper digestion and elimination. The class will also review the various body types along with their physical characteristics, nutritional needs and ideal menu/food plans.
This workshop is an introduction to children's health at all stages from preconception to puberty. Common childhood illnesses will be discussed along with natural remedies. A discussion about the ingredients and side effects of infant and child vaccines will be outlined.
This workshop will include information on various healing crystals and gemstones. The student will have the ability to identify crystals and understand their healing properties and uses. Particular focus will be on protection crystals and crystals that promote self-love and healing.
Spiritual healing practices will be discussed from the African Traditional Religion perspective. Various cleansing and healing rituals will be discussed. Spiritual uses of herbs will be provided along with recipes of making spiritual healing bath for prosperity and protection.
